Accusation that Ahlul hadeeth don’t recite durood.

They: You don’t love prophet peace be upon him properly because you don’t recite durood. [Read full post please].

Our scholars:

1. Abdur-Rahman Mubarakpuri commenting on the hadith:

The closest of people to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who send the most blessings on me

He said:

“The closest of people to me” means the nearest to me or those who are most entitled to my intercession” because sending a lot of blessings is based on veneration, which in turn stems from complete love, and that results in Allaah loving that person. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم to mankind): “If you (really) love Allaah, then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’aan and the Sunnah), Allaah will love you and forgive you your sins” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:31]. [see Islam qa]

2. Ibn al Qayyim said:

If a person send salaam (salutations) to the beloved Mohammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم with every breath he takes even then he won’t be able to fulfill his rights.

[Jala ul Afham 388]

3. When Ibn Saud heard the name of Prophet peace be upon him.

It is mentioned in الاستقصاء للناصري

When he heard the name of Prophet peace be upon him, he shivered and sent durood with a loud voice.

4. The practice of Ibn Taymiyyah.

Abu Hafs al Bazzar (d 749 h) said regarding Ibn Taymiyyah:

He would send durood and salam on the Prophet peace be upon him whenever he would mention him. NO BY ALLAH I HAVE NOT SEEN anyone who did Tazeem of Messenger of Allah peace be upon him more then him, neither anyone who was more eager to follow the Prophet peace be upon him. [Munaqib Ibn Taymiyah by al Bazzar page 28]

5. Ibn Hajr al asqalani.

Ibn Hajr said

Sending durood abundantly on Prophet peace be upon him is the biggest reason of ending Tao’on and other bigger calamities like it.

6. Yes we do claim Prophet peace be upon him does not hear the durood himself.

Ibn Hajr al Asqalani cleared the meaning of khitab in tashahud., He said

It has been proven, in the Tashahhud the Prophet is addressed, but he (peace be upon him) does not hear all of that. So, the address to the dead with peace in the saying of the one who enters the cemetery “Peace be upon you, O people of the graves, from the believers” does not imply that they hear it, rather it is a form of supplication.( And sameway ) The meaning of (Assalatu was-salamu aliyka ya Rasool Allah)

“Peace and blessings be upon you o Rasool Allah” is the same as, “O Allah, bestow prayers and peace upon the Messenger of Allah” (meaning he does not hear rather it is in the meaning of prayer). It has been confirmed in Sahih Hadith that when a servant says “peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah”, the dua reaches all the righteous servants, it is a form of request. The meaning is “O Allah, bestow peace upon them. And Allah knows best.”

7. Yes we do claim it is an innovation to raise voice and send durood after every adhaan.

Mulla Ali al Qari Hanafi matureedi said:

What the muezzin do now after giving azaan, they raise their voice while sending Salaat wa Salam, the Asal of (sending blessings) is sunnah, but how it is done now is an innovation, as it is dislike to raise the voice in the mosque even if it is for dhikr. [Mirqaat al Mafateeh under the hadith 657]

He also said:

Some of our (Hanafi) scholars clearly said: to raise the voice in the Mosque is prohibited even if it is dhikr. [Mirqaat 15/445-446]

He also said:

Whoever practice a thing which Prophet peace be upon him did not do it, He is an innovator. [Mirqaat al Mafateeh 1/41 under the hadith “The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions”]

Note: He is same Mulla Ali al qari, who is used in the innovation of kissing thumb, but they leave him here.

8. Yes we do claim, Self made durood which are not authentically proven specially where people went into extremes and started Istigatha now a days are false.

Al Suyuti said in the book

When I was in my youth, I [used to] send prayer upon the Prophet ﷺ [with a specific wording as such] I said: “Oh Allāh! [Send] prayers, blessings, and peace upon Muḥammad and upon the people of Muḥammad; just as you sent prayers, blessings, and peace upon ‘Ibrāhīm and upon the people of ‘Ibrāhīm. Indeed, You are praiseworthy, glorious.”

Then it was said to me in a dream: “Are you more eloquent or more knowledgeable in the meaning of speech and the gathering of the depth of meaning while keeping the address concise, than the Prophet ﷺ ? If there was no additional meaning in the preference [of the Prophet ﷺ], the Prophet ﷺ would not have preferred that [specific wording for the prayers].”

So, I sought Allāh’s forgiveness from that and I returned to the preferred wording [of the Prophet ﷺ] in terms of [the position] obligated and [I returned to] the recommended wording )) (end quote, copied)

Once i myself saw a paper, which stated whoever recites such durood on every night of juma for at least once, he will see Prophet peace be upon him at the time of death.

9. Yes we do claim Prophet peace be upon him does not visit the mawlid gatherings when durood is recited and people stand in veneration.

1. Muhammad bin Yusaf as-Saalihi a pro mawlid historian (allowed only charity and dhikr in mawlid) said

“It has become a habit amongst many of the (false) lovers of the Prophet peace be upon him that whenever they organise a gathering in his (peace be upon him) remembrance they stand up in his veneration, whereas this standing is an innovation which has no basis.”[Subl al-Hudaa War-Rishaad (1/415 under the heading of Alerts, Alert no: 2)]

2. Abdul Hayy Lucknawi said

They say that Prophet peace be upon him himself visits the majalis and preach Mawlid in dhikr of Mawlid, they stand in Mawlid in veneration and Ikram, This is also falsehood and it is not proven which is not proven from evidence..[Athaar alMarfooa fe akhbaar alModhua page 46]

3. Ibn Hajar al Haytami (pro Mawlid scholar) said

And example of this is the practice of Many people stand at the time of dhikr and mawlid of Rasool Allah peace be upon him. This is an innovation because there is no hadith mentioned regarding this issue. Even if people do it in veneration of him (peace be upon him) But the lay people can be excused because they don’t know. But specials (scholars) can not be excused [Fatawa Hadithiya page no: 60 under the heading مطلب في أن القيام في أثناء مولده الشريف بدعة لا ينبغي فعلها]

4. Qadhee Naseer ud deen said in ‘Tareeqat as-Salaf,’

“Some of the Jaahil (ignorant) Shaikhs have invented many new things which have no basis in the Quraan or the Sunnah, from these affairs is the standing in the celebrations of the Prophets Birthday.”[Quoted by Allama Shams ul Haq Adeemabadi (1273-1329) in his Fatawa page 166]

5. Qadi Shihab ud din Dolat Abadi (d 894 h) said:

On the start of year and in the month of Rabi ul Awwal in the name of Mawlid of peace be upon him Ignorant do something that has no value. They claim that his (peace be upon him) soul comes and (he peace be upon him is) present. This is False and this creed is shirk.

[Majmoo Fatawa 1/27, Tohfa tul Qadha of Qadi Shihab ud din, Taken from Tasheeh al Aqaid of Shaykh Muhammad Raees Nadwi page 190 and Fatawa Shaykh Shams al Haq Adeemabadi page 166]

6. Mulla Ali al Qari said:

The Companions would not stand in veneration of Prophet peace be upon him. Even though He (peace be upon him) was their leader but they knew He (peace be upon him) disliked this practice. [Mirqaat al Mafateeh Kitab al Adab, Chapter al Qiyaam]

10. Conclusion.

What your molvis and forefathers told you about us is a complete lie.
