The Prophet peace be upon him and feelings of Um ul Momineen Safiya radhiAllahanha.

The Prophet peace be upon him and feelings of Um ul Momineen Safiya radhiAllahanha.

1. When her jew husband slapped her which made a green scar.

2. Letting his (peace be upon him) knees for her to put her feet on so as to mount the camel.

3. Wiping away her tears with his hands.

4. How beautifully he (peace be upon him) consoled her feelings.

1. When her jew husband slapped her which made a green scar.

It is narrated from Ibn Umar:

There was a green scar in an eye of Safiyya. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked her, ‘What is this scar in your eye?’ She said, “I mentioned before my husband my dream that a moon fell into my lap upon which he slapped me and said; ‘Do you long for the King of Yathrib [the Prophet].’” She said: ‘There was none more hateful to me than the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as he had my father and husband killed. The Prophet (ﷺ), however, kept on explaining, ‘Safiya! Your father instigated the Arabs against me and did such and such.’ He kept doing so till all my harsh feelings for him vanished.

Silsala al-Ahadith al-Sahiha, (Riyadh: Dar al-Ma‘rif, 1996) Vol.6, Hadith 2793, translation taken from the article by Waqar Akbar Cheema.

Comments:

1. Safiya’s radhiAllahanha Jew husband slapped her. It was so hard that it left a green scar in the eye.

3. She knew her father was staunch enemy of Islam.

4. She agreed with the explanations of Prophet peace be upon him.

5. She started loving Prophet peace be upon him more than everyone.

6. She became Umm ul Momineen.

2. Letting his (peace be upon him) knees for her to put her feet on so as to mount the camel.

Anas bin Malik May Allah be pleased with him said:

He (peace be upon him) sat beside his camel letting his knees for Safiya to put her feet on so as to mount the camel. Then, we proceeded till we approached Medina

Sahih al-Bukhari 2893

3. Wiping away her tears with his hands.

On the authority of Anas bin Malik

“Safiya was traveling with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and that day was her day with him, but she fell behind due to her slow mount. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) approached her while she was crying and saying, “Did you make me ride a slow camel?” The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) wiped away her tears with his hands and (tried to) silence her, but she continued to cry, which angered the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), so he left. Safiya then went to Aisha and said, “Today is your day with the Messenger of Allah, if you are pleased with me.”

Aisha then applied some water to her veil, which was dyed yellow with saffron, and sprinkled it with some water. She then came and sat at the head of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said to her, “What is wrong?” She replied, “It is the blessing of Allah, which He bestows upon whomever He wills.” The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) understood the matter and was pleased with Safiya. He then went to visit Zainab and said to her, “Safiya’s camel has become tired, so why don’t you lend her your camel?”

Diya narrated in Ahadeeth al Mukhtarah vol 5 hadith 1727

This book is Mustakhraj on Bukhari and Muslim, According to Shaykh Badi Ud Din Shah Ar Rashidi this book is better than Al Mustadrak of Imam Al Haakim, The researcher عبد الملك بن عبد الله بن دهيش said the chain is authentic, al-Nasaee Narrated in Sunan al Kubra 9117, It is mentioned in Islamqa 242500 “The chain of narrators is good and linked.. and the hadith is proven”.

Comment:

How he wiped her tears with his hands, she still didn’t stop crying and as other people were also with him who were waiting for traveling, this annoyed him. And see the happiness of Aisha radhiAllahanha when she came to know Safiya gave her day go Aisha, and how Prophet peace be upon him went to Zainab radhiAllahanha for her camel to lend Safiya radhiAllahanha

4. How beautifully he (peace be upon him) consoled her feelings.

Narrated Anas:

“It reached Safiyyah that Hafsah said: ‘The daughter of a Jew’ so she wept. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) entered upon her while she was crying, so he said: ‘What makes you cry?’ She said: ‘Hafsah said to me that I am the daughter of a Jew.’ So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘And you are the daughter of a Prophet (descendant of Haroon aleh salam), and your uncle is a Prophet (Musa aleh salam), and you are married to a Prophet, so what is she boasting to you about?’ Then he said: ‘Fear Allah, O Hafsah.'”
