Yahya bin Zakariya aleh salam was martyred.

Allah says:

Say: “Verily, there came to you Messengers before me, with Al-Bayinat and even with what you speak of; why then did you kill them, if you are truthful”)

Asma bint Abi Bakr said to Ibn Umar when he came for condolence on the death of her son Abdullah bin Zubair:

وقد أهدي رأس يحيى بن زكريا إلى بغي من بغايا بني إسرائيل

The head of Yahya bin Zakariya was sent as a gift to a prostitute of Bani Israel.
