According to sufi logic, even moon, stones and land can hear and we can ask help from them as the Prophet peace be upon him did khitab with them.
a) The Prophet Peace be upon him would see a crescent moon, he would say:
اللهم أهله علينا بالأمن الإيمان والسلامة والإسلام والتوفيق لما نحب وترضى ربنا وربك الله
“O Allah, bring it over us with blessing and faith, and security and Islam… (and then khitab to moon) My Lord and YOUR Lord is Allah.

b) Prophet peace be upon him said:
يا أرض ربي وربك الله
O land, my Rubb and your Rubb is Allah [It is mentioned in Takhreej Ahya Uloom a din حديث حسن 2/651 but sh al Albani declared weak in Daif abu Dawood]
c) Umar (Allah be pleased with him) kissed the Stone and said:
I am kissing you, whereas I know that you are a stone, but I saw Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) kissing you (that Is why I kiss you).

So, according to their logic “There is no need of khitab if they do not hear. If they hear then we can ask help from stones, crescent, land and then they will make dua to Allah for us”.
