Sexual Weakness and Taking Medicines.

Sexual weakness and taking medicines.

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:

The wife of Rifa`a Al-Qurazi came to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) while I was sitting, and Abu Bakr was also there. She said, ‘O Allah s Apostle! I was the wife of Rifa`a and he divorced me irrevocably. Then I married `AbdurRahman bin Az-Zubair who, by Allah, O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ), has only something like a fringe of a garment, Showing the fringe of her veil.

Sahih al-Bukhari 5792

al Iraqi said:

It is possible that the male organ was likened to a hudbah due to its smallness, and it is also possible that the comparison was due to its flaccidity and lack of firmness.

Abu al-‘Abbas al-Qurtubi said:

“This indicates that when something like this comes from a claimant, she should not be rebuked or chastised for it, as it is in the context of demanding rights. It indicates the validity of this, for Abu Bakr did not object, even though Khalid was moved to object and urged him to do so.”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not allow her to remarry her first husband because he had divorced her three times. She then married another man without any intention of returning to her first husband. However, she later discovered that her second husband was sexually weak, so she wished to go back to her first husband. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that this would not be allowed until she and her second husband had consummated the marriage, reminding them that marriage is not a matter to be taken lightly.

Abu Abdullah al Qurtubi said:

He must also be mindful of the times when she is in need of her husband, so that he may protect her chastity and spare her from looking to anyone else. And if a man finds himself incapable of fulfilling her rights in the marital bed, he should take the remedies that increase his sexual strength and desire until he is able to satisfy her.
