Repentance of the Prostitutes.

The Prostitute’s Repentance.

1. When Abu Hazim (Tabiyee) saw a woman seducing men during Hajj, he urged her to fear Allah. She replied:

“By Allah, I am one of those women who did not come performing Hajj seeking reward, but rather to slay the innocent and heedless one.”

Abu Hazim then turned to his companions and said,

تعالوا ندعو الله أن لا يعذب هذه الصورة الحسناء بالنار فجعل يدعو وأصحابه يؤمنون

Come, let us pray to Allah not to punish this beautiful form with the Fire.” So he began to supplicate, and his companions said ‘Ameen’.

2. Shah Ismail Dehlawi, the grandson of Shah Waliullah Dehlawi, once led a group of Delhi’s prostitutes to repentance.

Seeing women on their way to dance, he asked his companions about their religion. He was told they were prostitutes with no religion. Upon learning they nominally identified as Muslims, Shah Ismail insisted on advising them as fellow Muslims, despite being warned that his opponents would misuse this against him.

He went to their quarters and announced, “O female slaves of Allah, open the door and listen to this faqeer.” Initially mistaken for a beggar, he was given alms but insisted on entry. Once inside, he addressed the lead dancer and her group, saying, “You have sung for people all your life; today, listen to this faqeer.”

His sermon began with the translation of Surah At-Tin, emphasizing the honor Allah bestows upon humanity (Quran 17:70). He then described Satan’s vow to mislead people (4:119) and the fate of wrongdoers (14:49-51). Moved to tears, the women were then taught about repentance. Shah Ismail recited verses on Allah’s mercy (39:53) and His power to replace sins with good deeds (25:70).

He concluded by instructing them to perform wudu and two rak’ahs of prayer. As they prostrated, he prayed fervently for their guidance and piety.

It is reported that afterward, a famously beautiful woman named Moti (“Pearl”) was found grinding lentils for the Mujahideen’ horses. When her former friends asked if she preferred her old life of luxury to her new hard labor, she replied, “By Allah, I never found happiness in a life of sin.”

3. Giving water to thirsty.

al Qurtubi said:

وقد قال بعض التابعين : من كثرت ذنوبه فعليه بسقي الماء . وقد غفر الله ذنوب الذي سقى الكلب ، فكيف بمن سقى رجلا مؤمنا موحدا وأحياه

Some of the Tabiyeen said:

“If the sins have become great one should give water to people”.

When Allah forgave (a prostitute) who gave water to a dog. So, How will Allah deal with the one who gives water to a momin , Muwahhid and gave him life.
