Arrogant and harsh husbands beware.
Prophet peace be upon him said:
May I inform you of the people of the Hell-Fire?
كُلُّ عُتُلٍّ جَوَّاظٍ مُسْتَكْبِرٍ ”.
They are all those violent, arrogant and stubborn people.”
In another hadith
لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ الْجَوَّاظُ وَلاَ الْجَعْظَرِيُّ ”
neither the Jawwaz nor the Jazari will enter paradise.
Al Ghazali said about the meaning of الجعظري الجواظ and عَتَل.
قيل هو الشديد على أهله المتكبر في نفسه وهو أحد ما قيل في معنى قوله تعالى عتل قيل العتل هو اللفظ اللسان الغليظ القلب على أهله
“It is said that he is the one who is severe with his family and arrogant in himself. And it is one of the explanations of the meaning of the word (عَتَل) which is said to be harsh speech and a rough heart towards one’s family.”

P.s Any person who is harsh, arrogant, and violent, whether towards their family or others, is disliked by Allah and is at risk of not entering Paradise.
