al Suyuti on asking help from Anbiya and Auliyah.

They:

As-Suyuti celebrated mawlid.

Sunni:

Yes but he never chanted Ya Rasool Allah Madad, Ya Ali madad, Ya gawth madad on mawlid.

They: you liar, he accepted asking help from the auliyah like us.

Sunni:

as-Suyuti said:

“If it is said: ‘How can this be, when Allah says: ‘And when My servants ask you about Me, indeed I am near’ (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:186)?’

The usual response would be:

The phrase ‘ قلنا ‘ (We said) has been omitted to indicate that when a servant is in the state of supplication, they are in the most honored position, with no intermediary between them and their Lord.”

[al Itteqaan 2/302]

They: but our scholars quote Quran and claim that means we can call upon auliyah.

Sunni:

As-Suyuti said:

The Kalam of Sufis on Quran is not (even) Tafsir.

[al Itteqaan fe ulum al Quran 2/458]

They:

But but, he didn’t say anything about Istigatha in his Tafsir Jalalayn.

Sunni:

Although al Itteqaan is accepted book of al Suyuti by everyone, but here is what mentioned in jalalayn as well:

Whatever grace you have, it is from God, none but He brings it (mā, ‘whatever’, is either a conditional or relative [particle]). Then when misfortune, poverty or illness, befalls you, to Him you cry for help, [to Him] you raise your voices with [ISTIGATHA] pleas for help and supplications, and you do NOT call upon ANY OTHER than Him. [Tafsir Jalalayn 16 : 53]

They: He didn’t specify Anbiya and auliyah here.

Sunni:

Tafsir Jalalayn says:

Say to them ‘Call on those whom you assumed to be gods besides Him such as the angels Jesus and Ezra ‘Uzayr; yet they have NO POWER to rid you of misfortune nor to transfer it to persons other than you. (Tafsir Jalalayn, Surah al Isra verse 56)

They: Suyuti was close to wahabis.

Sunni:

Wait until you see all.

as-Suyuti in his work :الأمر بالاتباع والنهي عن الابتداع -السيوطي Under the Chapter تعظيم الأماكن التي لا تستحق التعظيم (Veneration of those places which are not applicable for veneration).

He replied by saying

“And the disbelievers used to make supplications, and their prayers would be answered, they would be given rain and victory, and they would be healed, despite their supplications at idols and their seeking intercession through them. And Allah said: ‘Nay, We give provisions to these and those from the bounty of your Lord, and the bounty of your Lord is not withheld from anyone’.”

On page 139 he said

“If someone visits graves to make supplications, hoping for a response, they should be discouraged from doing so, and it’s closer to being prohibited. The Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, experienced droughts and calamities after the Prophet’s death, but they didn’t come to his grave to make supplications or seek help. Instead, Sayyiduna Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, went to the mosque with Al-Abbas, the Prophet’s uncle, to make supplications. So, follow the example of your righteous predecessors, O Muslim, and uphold the pure monotheism. Worship only Allah, and don’t associate anyone with your Lord, as Allah commanded: ‘Worship Me alone’ and said: ‘Whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him perform good deeds and not associate anyone in the worship of his Lord.’ So, worship only Him, call upon only Him, and seek help only from Him, for He is the One who can give or withhold, cause harm or benefit, glorified and exalted. There is no god but Him, in Him I trust, and to Him I repent.”
